Project Tips:

• Size: Approximately 44" x 64" including edging.

• Gauge: With 2 strands of yarn held together, 7 sts=3".

• Washing Instructions: Afghan may be machine washed in warm water, gentle cycle. Machine dry in low heat, delicate cycle.

• Yarn is used double throughout.

Row 1: 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook--3 sts counting ch-2 as st. Ch 2, turn. Row 2: Dc in first dc, (this dc plus ch-2 turning ch are inc at beg row) dc in next dc, 2 dc in turning ch (these 2 dc are inc at end of row)--5 sts. Ch 2, turn. Row 3: Dc in first dc, dc in each dc across, 2 dc in turning ch--7 sts. Ch 2, turn. Rows 4-6: Rep Row 3--13 sts at end of Row 6. Work even in dc until total length of piece measures 56 in. Ch 2, turn.

Dec Row: Work dc dec as follows: (yo, draw up lp in next st, yo, draw through 2 lps) twice, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook; dc in each dc to last 2 dc, work dc dec--11 sts.

Rep dec row until 3 sts rem. Next row, work dc dec once. Ch 1, work 1 row sc around entire piece; join with sl st. Fasten off.

Edging: Rnd 1: Join Lace in tip of peak, ch 6, dc in same st as joining, * dc in each st along slanting edge of peak, 2 dc in corner between slanting edge and straight edge, dc in each st along straight edge to next corner, 2 dc in corner, dc in each st to peak, ** in tip of peak work dc, ch 3, dc; rep from * ending at ** to complete rnd. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-6. Fasten off.
