Row 1: ch 36, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across (35sc), turn.
Row 2: ch 1, sc in blp of each sc across (35sc), turn.
Row 3: ch 1, sc in blp of first 25 sc, turn, leaving rem 10 sc unworked.
Row 4: ch 1, sc in blp of next 25 sc, turn.
Row 5: ch 1, sc in blp of next 25 sc, sc in blp of next 10 sc 2 rows below (35sc), turn.
Row 6: ch 1, sc in blp of next 35 sc, turn.
Rows 7-8: Rep rows 3-4. Rep rows 5-8 until wider edge of Hat (stretched) measures 19" from beg or length required for desired fit, ending with Row 8 of pa. Fasten off, leaving a sewing length. Sew blp of first 25 sts of last row to corresponging sts at base of Row 1, sew upper 10 sts 2 rows below last row to upper 10 sts of Row 1 maintaining rib pat.
Finishing: Weave a double strand of thread through the end sts around narrow edge of Beanie. Pull strands to gather top of Beanie tightly and knot strand ends to secure. Make 3 + 1/2" pompom and tie to top of Beanie.
